Now the same scientists have come up with the coffee spray that gives you as much caffeine as found in one single espresso. Two customers try out the latest Le Whif coffee flavour in New York.
Each stick delivers milligrams of caffeine, the equivalent of a cup of espresso. They now come in four flavours: pure chocolate, raspberry chocolate, mint chocolate and coffee. The chocolate powder is packed in sausage-shaped plastic bags which are slipped inside a small plastic aerosol dispenser.
Le Whif uses particle engineering to form chocolate in particle sizes that are small enough to become airborne though too large to enter the lungs.

Harvard professor David Edwards, lead inventor of Le Whif, says: "Over the centuries we've been eating smaller and smaller quantities at shorter and shorter intervals. It seemed to us that eating was tending toward breathing, so, with a mix of culinary art and aerosol science, we've helped move eating habits to their logical conclusion. We call it whiffing. New culinary innovations that involve eating by breathing are being developed by the Foodlab at Le Laboratoire, Edwards' art and science innovation center in central Paris.
